‘ Burkha’ was originally an outfit worn by women in Arabia. The whole argument of Burka is a choice, mostly gained momentum in reaction to attacks on Islam and using Muslim women as a tool for the attack on Islam, this has ultimately lead numerous women to defend their faith in face of bigoted attacks. As Muslims became the new definition of the oppressed class for numerous social groups like SJW, human rights groups, and feminists, their tradition and traditional outfits gained more symbolic value than they originally had. That’s where the whole argument of Burka is a choice came from. Defending Burka became equivalent if defending Muslims in general, which is simply not correct, Muslim men should not be given a free pass on the fate of their women and should be allowed to oppress their women, because they are oppressed, Burka is not even central to Islam.
